English Editing Netherlands is a proofreading and editing service from Richard Thrift, a native English speaker based in Amsterdam. Richard has many years’ experience working with a variety of clients. He has a particular interest in the non-profit/NGO sector and social businesses. Richard’s recent work includes proofreading news articles for a development NGO, and editing presentations for a training company.
By working with Richard, you will ensure that your text is effective, has the correct tone and suits the context. Richard follows the development of languages with interest, and makes sure that changing linguistic conventions are reflected in the texts that he works with. Richard is always clear about his areas of expertise and will inform potential clients about whether he is best placed to proofread/edit their work.
Born and raised near London, Richard has lived in Amsterdam since 2012. He has a bachelor’s degree in Modern History and Economics, and is a CELTA-qualified English teacher.
When he moved to the Netherlands, setting up as a proofreader and editor was a logical choice, as he has always had a passion for languages and an eye for detail. Richard is a member of SENSE, the Society of English-language professionals in the Netherlands, is a keen runner and enjoys going to concerts.
